Our Book Table
The book table started several years ago from very modest beginnings with a few paperbacks and an honesty collection box! Today, in 2023, this small undertaking is now a major contributor to our success in the fund-raising activities of the League. Since re-opening in June 2022, after Covid shut down, the table has made a significant contribution which is shared by Donnington ward.
The fund-raising success of the book table is down to you, the public, for without your contributions of the amazing books we receive, the table would not exist! Please visit to grab yourself a bargain as we only charge 50p and £1. Cards, DVD’s and CD’s are also available.
Mainly, we sell paper backs, but hard backs are still very popular with a diversity of genres including gardening, history, cooking, crafting, photography, biographies, autobiographies and so many other subjects; we never know what will be donated for us to sell!
All donations go to improving the facilities of our community hospital whether the purchasing of equipment for wards and departments, patient welfare and needs and the upkeep and improvement of the beautiful therapy garden.
