Aims & Objectives

The principal objective of the League is to help and benefit patients and medical staff at the West Berkshire Community Hospital which the NHS cannot supply. It seeks to meet its objective by funding and gifting  the purchases of medical equipment for use only  within the West Berkshire Community Hospital wether large or small.

By providing medical instruments, many procedures can now be treated at WBCH, reducing waiting times for treatment and the inconvenience of having to travel to another hospital.

A typical example of the League’s fund raising efforts, is the Ophthalmology Unit which has attained the status of excellence.  As many of these patients are either elderly or young children, this service is invaluable.

Many other wards and departments have also benefited by the League, medical equipment, all important in their particular application thus helping to improve efficiency with the consequent welfare to the patient.
