Annual General Meeting 2024
On Wednesday 25th September the League of Friends held their annual general meeting in the West Berkshire Community Hospital next to the tea bar.
We would like to thank everyone for making the effort on a rainy and windy evening to attend the meeting. We truly appreciate the fantastic turnout given the conditions.
As well as running through the activities and achievements in the past year we were also pleased to hear from Helen Atkins about the work they are doing in the radiology department to improve the patient experience. Helen conducted a tour of her department, presenting the ultrasound scanners and brand new DEXA scanner, purchased by the League of Friends.
With forthcoming bids we expect to have donated equipment worth over £3.5 million to various departments since the hospital opened 22 years ago. In fact, it was the 22nd anniversary of the first spade in the ground for the new hospital on the night of the AGM.
The valuable donations we provide to various departments at West Berks are only possible because of the generosity of our donors. Thank you to everyone who donated to the League of Friends in 2024. Also attending the meeting were some key members of staff who see the positive benefit of our donations who wished to express their gratitude for everything the charity has provided.
